The recent surge in RAM prices is primarily attributed to the increasing demand for high- bandwidth memory (HBM) used in AI data centers. Major manufacturers like Micron Technology, SK Hynix, and Samsung have shifted their prod uction capacities to meet the growing needs of AI and data center companies. This shift has led to a shortage of RAM, causing prices to skyrocket.
- Micron Technology: Retiring its consumer-focused brand Crucial to focus on AI data center customers. 1
- SK Hynix: Shifting production to HBM, which uses larger DRAM dies than commodity types of memory. 1
- Samsung: Doubling the cost of DDR5 RAM, which will be passed on to consumers. 1
The RAM shortage is expected to last throughout 2026, and companies like Dell and Lenovo have warned that prices will increase as the demand for RAM grows.

Trump says U.S. oversight of Venezuela could last for years
The United States could oversee Venezuela and control its oil revenue for years, President Donald Trump said in an interview with the New York Times published on Thursday.”Only time will tell” how long the United States will oversee Venezuela, Trump said. When asked by the newspaper if it would be three months, six months, a year or longer, Trump said: “I would say much longer.””We will rebuild it in a very profitable way,” Trump said of Venezuela, where he sent troops to seize President Nicolás Maduro in a night raid on Saturday.
“We’re going to be using oil, and we’re going to be taking oil. We’re getting oil prices down, and we’re going to be giving money to Venezuela, which they desperately need.”
Trump on Tuesday unveiled a plan to refine and sell up to 50 million barrels of Venezuelan oil that had been stuck in Venezuela under U.S. blockade.

How I Outsmarted a Scammer: A Real Story from Kijiji
By canadamixstuff blogs
Selling online can be a great way to make extra cash—but it can also attract scammers. Here’s how I spotted one and avoided – -getting trapped.
🧩 The Setup
I listed my brown wood dining table with two size modes and six chairs for $350. A buyer messaged me from a U.S. number: — — (609) 213-5327. That was my first red flag—I’m in Canada, and this was a New Jersey number.
💸 The Scam Pattern
They usually ask:
- “Do you accept PayPal or e-transfer?”
- You say yes.
- They send payment, then reverse it by claiming it was a mistake.
- You’ve already handed over the item.
- The bank asks for proof—but the number is internet-based or foreign.
- You lose the item and the money.
🧠 The Accusation
Then came the message:
“you scammer you think im dum i know this scam so back off you filthy scammer” (yes you should say this i recommend it)
Instead of getting flustered, I stayed calm and didn’t fall for the bait. I kept my messages polite and didn’t hand over anything – —–without proper, verifiable payment.
✅ Tips to Avoid Scams
- Stick to cash only, like one buyer wisely said.
- Avoid cross-border deals unless you know the person.
- Don’t accept PayPal or e-transfer from strangers.
- Meet in public places and keep receipts.
